Goodbye Playstation Home

Welcome to the BETA

It all started in 2008, I really forget when I actually got invited, but I saw the good potential, second life clone-ish software just called… “PlayStation Home” after the 4GB install I jumped in and people were actually pleasant, they always greeted you with kind words well mostly. I’ve met some good friends on home, especially when I needed it. I hate being super personal sometimes but that time I kinda hit rock bottom. My parents passed and I felt like that need to reach out and the home community helped me through it. I found my little sister and I even met my ex-girlfriend there. I’m getting ahead of myself; I’ll start from the beginning.

Nintendo Direct 4/1/15 Thoughts

Oh its just Mewtwo… Wha!? Theres more Smash Content!?

Is it wrong for me to want to watch the Pokemon movie right now?

April’s Nintendo direct was truly “no joke” (Okay yeah its not original but it still is a good joke) It started out strong with the newest smash trailer showing off Mewtwo. While its not a huge surprise but his new moves and final smash were spectacular nonetheless. The biggest surprise was the hidden character and content that came out of nowhere, Lucas and some fun new costumes.

It's Metal Gear Month!

Hello everybody this is Justin from KQS and usually July is Metal Gear Month and my new YouTube partnership won’t let me do anything Metal Gear related for YouTube grrrr Content ID, so I thought I would write about how I started Metal Gear when I was 10 and why it’s one of the few series that has stuck with me

Kept you waiting huh?
A Hind D?

Unlike Pokémon that I’ve taken a break before, Metal Gear I’ve been playing since MGS1. I was 10 and a super innocent kid watching cartoons and obsessed with Pokémon, and one summer when my cousins were staying for th summer, and they brought over MGS and when I first saw it I was completely wowed by it, the graphics, yes the graphics, the cinematic flair and the incredible voice acting especially Solid Snake, Mr. David Hayter himself. I don’t see myself as badass as Solid Snake but I see similarities, He’s kind of a loner, doesn’t trust people and because of that has a very hard time in love, hates feeling used, can be a bastard on occasion, and has a super deep voice, thanks puberty for making my voice so awesome. Everything about MGS was impressive especially the boss characters, Psycho Mantis is probably the scariest thing I saw at that time, Chief Of Magna gives me crap when I say that but you try fighting a boss that completely messes with you and directly talks to you. Damn you 4th wall. But that fear ultimately made me continue to play, triumph and become a fan for life.

Man I miss cheat codes

Hello everybody this is Justin from KQS and recently I have been playing some older PS2 and original Xbox (I hate not saying Xbox 1) and it got me thinking… what happened to cheat codes? Okay I know cheat codes kind of ruin the game and multiplayer but really I think they give more life to a game than achievements.

The Konami Code... Never Forget it.

I grew up in the NES era, games were extremely tough and of course the first cheat I remember is of course the “Konami Code” UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, B, A, START. 30 lives in Contra actually let me beat it. And to be honest because of the Konami Code and cheats I still enjoy it. That game is tough on its own and being able to see the end has always made me appreciate it more. I guess the fact of being able to see the end of a game was always comforting. My mom would let us rent games and this was before Blockbuster’s (I feel so old saying that) 5-day rentals. The place I rented games from let you only have one night, so… You had to play constantly to finish it and good luck with RPG’s, you would have to hope no one erased your save file, that happened too much. So cheats were a big factor for me. Not because my skill level was low but for the sake of beating a game quicker. 1 day, and usually it would be another week until we would go to the grocery store again.

Why I left Pokémon and why I’m back

Hello everybody this is Justin from KQS and I’ve been playing Pokémon Y a lot lately and I have been wanting to give a backstory to Pokémon and my experience.

Welcome to the world of POKEMON!
Self Explanatory

Unlike many other children, I actually stumbled upon Pokémon by mistake. I used to watch a show called Samurai Pizza Cats, and I would watch it everyday and like all good things they come to an end. So with the series over I just thought they would just show reruns, Next day I saw something totally different... the first episode of Pokémon, and it changed my childhood forever. I gravitated towards Ash Ketchum like no other character, even more than Ryu or Solid Snake. He was 10 and I was 10, he was ummm... tan? Well a darker skin color than the usual white/light skinned protagonist and he was given a pet that shocks stuff! As empowering a child to run away and go be a Pokémon master is awesome but extremely irresponsible, especially when your 10 year old has a high chance to be violently murdered in the forest by Spearows. So I was hooked and later I found the games and by both watching the anime and playing the games every gym battle felt like me and Ash were one. Every time I lost a battle I never felt that bad because Ash lost and he never gave up so I didn’t either. So time going along being a Pokémon Master became literately an obsession. Gotta catch em all, rappin dat PokéRap , I wore my Ash hat whenever I played, hell I dressed up as Ash for that Halloween a simple blue vest, Pokédex calculator I seriously wish I had a picture to share and compare it to my cosplay now. It took me a little time but I did catch all 150, I was on top of the world, I became a Pokémon Master but my journey wasn’t done yet, the next then came the card game, it was short lived cuz I sucked at it but I really liked having the cards of my favorite Pokémon, especially that elusive Charizard... which I got last year, and I feel like a Badass. I was never a great card battler cuz of well… money! My mom would slap me if I wanted 6 booster packs at 5 bucks a pop. So I found a even cooler way to card battle... with the Pokémon card game on Gameboy and it’s much more cost effective and I learned about the cool rare Japanese cards.

New Year, New Plans (Gaming Resolutions and in depth channel update)

Hello everybody this is Justin from KQS and I will admit its been a while but I really wanted to think ahead about what KQS will be from now on. I started this blog/site and I’ve decided for this year I’m going to really use it. So to start out the new year I thought I’d make some resolutions… yes gaming resolutions (It sounds so horribly nerdy) and goals for the channel. This is gonna be a long post, I don’t half ass articles and put a bunch of pictures, so you’ve been warned.

Gaming Resolutions:

Last year I played a decent amount of games, the good thing about doing reviews is you have the chance to do so. But also my no RPG rule left a lot of games I wanted to try and complete. So I’m gonna focus on the insane library of games I’ve bought over the generation. And the first thing I’m starting out with is… Assassins Creed. It’s a fun series, stabbing people, playing multiplayer with my friend and using my Metal Gear skills to their fullest and unlocking Raiden in Brotherhood. I really have to finish this series. Ever since I started doing more Youtube and doing vids a lot of games and series have been put on the backburner, The Mass Effect Series is another series to finish. So I do have a lot on my plate.

Let start out the new year right... by stabbing everyone!
